Mr. Smarty ~ January 20, 2011

I don't know if this is normal for a 20 month old. I may have a little genius.

This is from lunch today, Matthew was lining up the oranges, so that each faced the same direction even. It must be from all those "Little Einstein" cartoons.

More Scrapbook Pages ~ January 18th, 2011

Just posting a few more digital scrapbook pages I did on my boys today. This first one was done for a challenge for a scrapbooking website I like to read. I am not 100% hooked on it, I may go back and design it without a challenge in mind. The journaling reads "Our first trip to the beach you guys had a wonderful time. We were going to have our picture taken for Christmas cards, but both of you could not stay out of the water. You ended up soaked! Then you found the beach chairs and that was a game all in itself. November 2010"

The second page turned out so well. I love it! The journaling reads: "You guys are so cute when you are making all your baby faces. I can’t believe you guys will be a month old in a few days, it seems like the days are going by so fast. Of course, it could be the lack of sleep your daddy and I are getting. But it is all worth it to see your healthy, beautiful faces. We love you both so much! June 3, 2009"

Project Life Tuesday ~ Week 2

Welcome back to another addition of my Project Life pictures. I had to set this up on Monday, so there was no chance I would forget to post it on Tuesday. These are pictures from Sunday, January 9th through Saturday January 14th.

Sunday, January 9th: The boys creating what will someday be a famous piece of artwork. I do have to thank Crayola for making WASHABLE crayons. I don't know how parents survived before that concept. I have already cleaned crayon off the couch, my laptop and their face, who knows where it will pop up next!

Monday, January 10th:  A very exciting trip to Sam's Club. The boys were oohed and ahhed over by a couple of nice old ladies. Yup, they are cuties!

Tuesday, January 11th: We got snow overnight, maybe three or four inches. Most of the schools in the area were closed. Pretty sad, if you ask me! But I guess they have so many snow days scheduled... And I posted another picture of the day, the total destruction of the toy room. Usually it will stay this way until they go to bed, because if I try to pick up, then a few minutes later it will look like this again.

Wednesday, January 12th: Happy birthday Daddy! We got to celebrate with a sick Ryan. Both boys have been getting over a cold they got right after Christmas, and this one was a whopper! It just takes forever to get over (we personally know, because everyone in the family got it!). Ryan got better, but then was badly congested and coughing again today. He didn't get a nap at all and was up that night coughing too. Thankfully Matthew got over the second part of this cold pretty fast, so I am hoping the same will be true for Ryan.

Thursday, January 13th: Ryan is still very congested and coughing a lot, especially when he lays down, but he is sleeping better. I felt bad about waking him up from his afternoon nap, but I found out that if he sleeps too late, he will not go to bed easily at night. The boys found a box of Ziploc bags tonight after dinner, and made a complete mess with those. But at least they were having fun.

Friday, January 14th: Ryan looks much better and sounds better too. He will still have the runny nose for a while, but at least the coughing is getting better. My new Adobe Elements came in today, Merry Christmas to me! I had been working with version 2 before this, and version 9 just came out this fall. So it was time for a software upgrade. I have been using this to edit my pictures, and make the digital scrapbook pages a few days ago.

Saturday, January 15th: Matthew has been hiding around the house recently, especially when it is time to eat, and he doesn't want to. His first place was in the laundry room, behind the baskets of laundry. And today he found a new place while running around on the couch, behind the couch cushion. As you can see, neither of these places are "good" hiding places, since he is pretty easy to spot, but it is fun to try and "find" him.

Have a wonderful week!

Another Scrapbook Page ~ January 17th, 2011

I just wanted to post this, because as family, you may not be interested in the scrapbook part of this, but you would love to see the pictures. So here is another digital page I just made this past weekend.

I did not design this page, all I did was add the pictures and the smile quote on the bottom.

Tune in tomorrow for my second week of Project Life pictures!

Here's a digital scrapbook layout I did of the boys, favorite memories in 2010. Happy Saturday!

Each picture should be linked to a bigger copy, so you can click on it to read the journaling and see the pictures better.

Project Life Tuesday ~ January 11, 2011

So I have quite a few resolutions this year. One of them is to try and take at least one picture a day and to journal a little each day. As a scrapbooker, I love pictures and stories. So this seems like a do-able resolution. To help keep me on track, I decided to post this pictures here, rather than my craft blog. This way you can yell at me if I miss a Tuesday, and you all can see pictures from our daily lives. Sounds good, right? We'll see how long I can keep it up!

Sunday, January 2nd: Today we had our third Christmas, this time with Aunt Heather, Cousins Illona and Kaite, and Great-Grandma Watson. We had fun opening gifts, and had a wonderful lunch afterwards. Then we packed up for the two hour drive home. Mom and dad were thrilled to be home, but exhausted.

Monday January 3rd: Daddy had to go back to work. The boys found one of the old toys that they missed while in Wisconsin, too bad the batteries were dying. Happy cooperative play is pretty rare these days.

Tuesday, January 4th: Today Ryan made me laugh. He was trying his hardest to try and put the shoes from Mr. Potato Head on his feet. Of course, monkey see, monkey do and Matthew had to try too. Guess what, they didn't fit.

Wednesday, January 5th: We are all still recooperating from our colds. Both boys seem to be getting better, although Matthew's nose has been running constantly. At least Ryan's croup is gone and both boys are sleeping well at night again. Here we are chilling with daddy, watching the movie Cars, which is a favorite of both boys.

Thursday, January 6th: Today the boys and I made a trip to Toys R Us to return a duplicate gift. We picked up a few new toys, the little people musical train and a Mickey Mouse story reader (which mommy was not happy with and will be returning in the near future). We saw a Sunset Hill cop at the store, and the lady behind me had to thank her for all the work they have done with the tornado damage. For those of you who don't know Sunset Hills is a small suburb of St. Louis, about 5 minutes from the house. They got hit hard by a tornado on New Years Eve. You can see some images of the damage here.

Friday, January 7th: Not all days are good around here. I unfortunately don't remember what caused this, probably a fight over a toy. Poor little guy!

Saturday, January 8th: Today Grandma Smith, Aunt Heather and cousin Katie came down. They have classes in St. Louis every month, and stop by afterwards to visit. They took us all out to lunch for daddy's birthday. Here the boys have discovered the condensation on the storm door window and they were painting pictures.

I hope you all have enjoyed this week's pictures! Remember to get on me if I forget to post again next Tuesday!

Monkeying Around ~ December 14, 2010

It's quite chilly down here in St. Louis. I am sure most of you are laughing at me right now, thinking "well, it's darn cold up here!" Hee hee. Well us Southerners are not used to this cold, this early. Did you know they close schools around here for an inch of snow?Mostly to keep the kids safe from the crazy drivers down here! Anyway, I digress. You came here to see pictures of the boys, not listen to me ramble. :)

We picked up the monkey hats a few months ago, mommy couldn't pass them up in the store. Ryan hates wearing it, as soon as we are in the van, the hat comes off and is thrown on the floor. We'll see if he keeps it on when we get to play out in the snow, when it warms up a little that is!

And this is what happens when I try and get a picture of the two of them now that they are completely mobile. My camera is not fast enough for the two of them!

Have a wonderful day! Love from the Smith family!
