Sunday February 13th: It was a gorgeous day here with temperatures in the 50s! We all went to the park this morning and ran off some energy. There was still a lot of snow and ice on the ground, so we had to watch the boys carefully so they did not fall, but it was nice to be able to get out of the house. Bath night tonight, the boys had fun being squirted by mommy.

Monday, February 14th: Happy birthday Great Grandma Smith and Happy Valentine's Day! Mommy and the boys went to the grocery store to pick up a special dinner for daddy. The weather was great again, so we grilled out some steak! The boys really enjoyed the green beans, Ryan must of had a full sized adults portion, and he would still ask for more. We had to take pictures of his Buddha belly afterwards, I seriously don't know where he puts it!

Tuesday, February 15th: I could get used to this weather! Finally a warm up! Temps into the 60s today, almost 70 degrees. Mommy opened up the windows to get some fresh air. In the pictures, Matthew is still out cold when Ryan decided it was time to wake up. I totally disregard the saying "never wake a sleeping baby" - if one boy is up from his nap, I wake the other one. That way they both go to bed at night, at the same time. Ryan playing peek-a-boo with the laundry basket.

Wednesday, February 16th: Mommy bought the boys an early birthday present, an Etch-a-sketch. The boys had a lot of fun scribbling on it, and then erasing their artwork. Another gorgeous day! We dusted off the stroller and went for a walk today. Mommy realized she is really out of shape. Pushing both boys and the stroller uphill didn't go so well. Considering it is probably close to 90 pounds, I wonder why mommy had to stop so much?!

Thursday, February 17th: Happy birthday Great Grandma Peterson! Mommy met with one of the playgroup mommies today at the park, while the boys ran around. I only had to chase Ryan 5 or 6 times across the park because he was dead set on escaping. The park I like to go to is completely fenced in, except for the entrance, and of course Ryan has to test his boundaries. At least we all got some exercise!

Friday, February 18th: Both boys can now climb on the dining room chairs. Anything on the table is fair game, as you can see, Ryan found my sunglasses. Cooler temps today, only into the 60s! Heeehee to those Wisconsin folk! Well next week they are calling for colder weather. At least now all the snow is gone, and we got a taste of Spring. This year it will be great, mommy can go out and garden while the boys play in the backyard. I cannot wait!

Saturday, February 19th: I really should get back into journaling because I cannot remember what we did on Saturday, other than pizza night. :) It's only Tuesday, you would think I could remember just a few days back, but my mind is completely blank! The pictures are of Jason playing ball with the boys, he would throw it, and they would chase after the balls. And Matthew squishing Ryan (not intentionally yet).

Sunday, February 6th: Super Bowl Sunday! Packers versus the Steelers. In a nail biter of a game, the Packers managed to squeak a win, to become the World Champions! Mommy was super excited, and I think Daddy was too, although you will never hear him admit that!

Monday, February 7th: Matthew is still getting over his sickness from last week. Ryan seems to be doing much better now that he is on antibiotics. The boys playing with their Mickey Mouse train they got for Christmas.

Tuesday, February 8th: A trip to Target today and Mommy picked up something she hopes to start using soon... but only time will tell. Mr. Froggie the potty! I think it will be a while yet, since they both are not talking much yet. I will probably end up with two boys just getting potty trained before going to school. Whenever they are ready, at least we will be ready!

Wednesday, February 9th: Matthew seems to be slowly getting better. At least he has slept the past few nights all the way through, without Tylenol. No fever anymore, just a lot of congestion, same as Mommy and Daddy. What a fun cold this has been!

Thursday, February 10th:  Mommy bought a step stool the same day as she bought the Froggie potty, and this has been the worst decision she has made. Allowing them to have further reach on our sacred counter top has caused too many problems, and the step stool was put away soon after this day. Here they got a hold of a roll of paper towels and were throwing them all over the kitchen floor. That I was not too upset about. It's the coffee mugs and scissors that they brought over to Mommy that made her "lose" the stool. It can come back out when they listen a little better.

Friday, February 11th: Daddy went to the doctor today, he has a sinus infection caused by the cold from the boys. Matthew is much better, he looks like he will not need to go to the doctor too. Mommy should go to the doctor, but is also waiting a few more days to see if this clears up on it's own. Matthew feeding Peanut, not something we usually encourage, but it was too cute. Ryan, my Mountain Goat, can now crawl up into his highchair on his own. He keeps Mommy on her toes!

Saturday, February 12th: Aunt Heather, Uncle Pat, Katie and Ilona came down today. We went out to lunch at Steak n' Shake, and thought about going to the Magic House with Heather and Pat, but that would be right during the boys' nap, and with their colds, we decided to just wait until everyone was feeling better before we go. The boys had fun playing with their cars from Steak n' Shake after their naps, taking their duckies for rides.

Sunday, January 30th: No picture and no journaling for today. I must have been on vacation today and completely forgot my project. I could insert a generic picture of our life in here, the many loads of laundry and dishes... the destroyed house with toys as far as the eye can see... but I am sure you can survive without one day of pictures. :) Whoops, I lied, here's the picture from that morning... the date was wrong. Matthew and Ryan helping daddy vacuum the kitchen.

Monday January 31st: The snowstorm of the century is on it's way... or so the news people say. The boys had their First Friends group in the morning, so mommy dropped them off to play, and she ran around town looking for salt. Too bad St. Louis was completely out of salt. And the grocery store was a madhouse. So mommy's three free hours turned into about a half hour to catch her breath before turning around to get the boys. Then we were off to catch a quick lunch, and to the doctor's office to get Matthew's stitches removed. We were scheduled to get that done tomorrow, but with the snow and ice on its way, the doctor's office called and rescheduled. The pictures are from First Friends, I snapped them before the boys realized I was there. Playing happily with the new toys.

Tuesday, February 1st: The storm of the century turn out to be a flop here. We got 4-6 inches of sleet, which compacted into 1-2 inches of ice overnight, so that was not fun. But we did not get the 10-20 inches of snow they were calling for. Darn! Jason did get 1/2 the day off from work though, so it was nice to have him home with me and the boys. Matthew's scar looks really good now that the stitches are out and the cut can breathe.

Wednesday, February 2nd: Three pictures for today. The first one was two sick, and cranky boys. I know, I am such a mean mommy, feeding them food... what a crime! Ryan is sick, again. He's running a mild fever, refusing to eat and has a runny nose. I am not sure if this is the same as what Matthew just got over, or something new. We just can't seem to stay healthy this winter. Wishing for an early Spring!!

Thursday, February 3rd: This is going to be a doozy of a cold for Ryan. Lots of congestion, still running a mild fever, and CRANKY! Matthew has the sniffles now too. Oh boy.

Friday, February 4th: Our second trip to the doctor this week. Fun! This time it was for Ryan, we decided to bring him in since he just hasn't been getting any better. He has a mild ear infection, and we decided to go ahead and treat it since he has been sick all week, and this would be his first time on antibiotics. Matthew being a daredevil... no wonder he was the first one with stitches. Of course, Ryan climbs on the tables (and chairs) too, I just happened to catch Matthew doing it today. Movie link for today too!

Saturday, February 5th: Matthew is sick now too. He has what Ryan has. Runny nose, congestion and fever. Great. Ryan seems to be getting better, although he is still not eating well and cranky. At least the fever is gone and his nose is clearing up. I am including a picture of the pup since I didn't take too many pictures today. Not a very relaxing Saturday!

I have to admit, I have been really good about taking the pictures, but I am slacking a little on the journaling everyday. So I may have to make up some things that we did on these days... ;)

Sunday, January 23rd: Packers versus the Bears. It was war in our house, since Jason is a Bears fan, and I am a cheese head. Grandma and Grandpa Peterson bought the boys Bears and Packer jerseys for their birthday, so we thought this was perfect for today. We'll make sure we have one of each fan, unless they both are smart and decide to love the Packers too. (By the way, the Packers are going to the Superbowl!)

Monday, January 24th: Mommy had a doctor's appointment today, so we met daddy at the office and went out to lunch afterward. Matthew is helping out with the laundry.

Tuesday, January 25th: I am sure a lot of fun things happened today, but all mommy remembers is our trip to the ER. Daddy, Matthew and Ryan were playing after we got home from dinner, chasing each other through the house. I think a combination of running and new shoes caused Matthew to trip and fall, hitting his head on his little wooden chair. We got the bleeding to stop pretty fast, but with the swelling it was not laying right, and we knew it would scar unless it was stitched up. So off to the ER we went, right at bedtime. Four hours later, an exhausted family is home with a little boy with four new stitches. The first pictures are prior to the accident, the boys were playing with a new puzzle we just bought and mommy's cookie sheet.

Wednesday, January 26th: Matthew is doing OK today, but you can definitely tell his head hurts. Both boys took a 3.5 hour nap today, with mommy. They haven't slept that long at nap time yet. Mostly because if I am awake, I don't let them sleep more than 2 hours. Otherwise Ryan refuses to go to sleep at night.. thankfully they were both so tired from the night before, they both went to bed OK tonight. I am sure this won't be our only trip to the ER in the next few years. Here is a picture of Matthew's battle scar.

Thursday, January 27th: Ryan decided he wanted to be in on the attention too, so today he got his thumb caught in the laundry room cabinet door. Matthew and him were playing in the cabinets, and he had his thumb right along the edge that hinges open, and got him thumb stuck when Matthew opened the door.

Friday, January 28th: One of those days where I forgot to jot down some news from the day. Whoops! Matthew had fun playing with the diaper box. He would try and crawl into it, and play hide and seek with mommy. Ryan, my daredevil, used the box to climb up onto and get things off the laundry room counter top. Each day, we find more and more of our "safe places" get busted by Ryan. Movie night tonight. We all watched "Cars," since that is the boys' favorite movie.

Saturday, January 29th: The boys and mommy went outside to play in the melting snow. Today it was around 40 degrees, so we had to get out to enjoy the warm weather. Mommy made a snowman for the boys, and they had to help put his hat and eyes on. They mostly just helped take them off, and hand them to mommy to put back on, but it was all fun. Daddy worked on the stairs in the house while we were outside.

I hope you all have a wonderful week. Let's hope ours isn't as exciting as this past week!
