Sleeping with an infant

I saw this app for my iPhone called Sleep Cycle when I was looking for Fantasy Football apps for Jason and was intrigued by it. It analyzes your sleep patterns and wakes you during your lightest sleep phase within a 30 minute time frame. Supposedly, waking at this phase leaves you feeling more refreshed and awake, rather than getting jarred out of a deep sleep. It was only $0.99 so I decided to pick it up and analyze my sleeping.

So here is my sleep pattern from the past four nights, sleeping with an eleven month infant in the same room - who still takes one feeding overnight. Keep in mind I am an extremely light sleeper.

Friday night

Saturday night (I know for a fact I was awake at least once an hour between 2-5 so this isn't terribly accurate)

Sunday night

Monday night

I don't know how I am still managing to stay on my feet during the day, let alone sew without sewing through my fingers. At least in a week or two I will start to ween little H off of breast milk (YAY I made it to 11.5 months!) and then I can start to train her to sleep through the night. I won't get any good sleep until we can get her out of our room though, because she wakes me with every little toss and turn, unless I invest in some ear plugs first.

By the way I have yet to be awakened by the app, it does go off, but I am already awake before it goes off. Usually H or the boys have done that job.

But for $0.99 it is a fun app and it has great reviews. For those of you with an iPhone (iPod or iPad also) and no kids to wake you up, you should give it a try! You do need to be able to plug your phone in overnight and it does not work on Temper-material beds. You can find it in iTunes, here.

We did it!

Just a quick post because I had to share it with someone, and I think the grandparents are all tired of hearing about every little detail...

I am going to go out on a limb and say that both boys are successfully potty trained! Well, mostly... we still need to work on telling mommy when we need to go, but if mommy is persistent, both boys can stay dry AND clean all day long. Nights, we still have to work on. Both boys are about 50/50 staying dry all night long. We have been in big boy undies during the day for a few weeks now, and I can count on one hand the number of accidents in the past week. Yes, I am sure there will be future accidents. I know there will be. BUT I am so very proud to finally, have only one diapered kid in the house. Hooray!

Ten Months Old

Can you believe little H is already ten months old? I wish the weather would cooperate down here so we can get outside, but with a month straight of 90+ days (and the last 12 have been 105+) we have been stuck indoors. Well, by next summer at least everyone will be walking, how much fun will that be?!

Here are H's ten month pictures. She's a squirmy one, so getting pictures of her on her quilt is almost impossible now a days! Here are my favorite two:

Oh yes, and that is her mommy-made dress and diaper cover. I am pretty proud at how it came together, in one day too! I hope you all are surviving this heat! Stay cool!

On the Move

H is officially mobile. She has been butt-scooting for a while now, but I don't think she realized she was doing it. Well now she knows she can move and boy, watch her go. Withing a few seconds she is into mischief, so my days have gotten even more busy as I have to always be aware of where she is and what is near her (those darn preschool toys are scattered all around the house and they are WAY more entertaining to a baby I guess, those and the dog's water bowl too).

And a movie with H feeding M.... or at least that is what M thinks.

Enjoy!

Summertime Love

Today you just couldn't help but enjoy the gorgeous Summer weather! Lounging out next to the pool with my  new magazine and a cool drink, a roast chicken in the oven (recipe hopefully to come), it couldn't get much better!

Quilty, one of my many recent birthday splurges

Our "pool" and the work-in-progress "treehouse"

Water soaked diapers shows how much fun the twosome are having

Now if this one would take her afternoon nap...

Now I am off to enjoy more of this afternoon!

R made a Mess

This is what you get in the two seconds you run to get milk for twin three year olds...

A great big mess. R must have seen H's cereal/squash mixture and decided to feed baby H. This is after mommy fed her, and she was already pretty full. The joys of parenting at it's best here!
